Sandals Royal Bahamian is the closest Sandals resort to the United States, and while there are no Sandals resorts in Florida, it is only a quick 35-minute flight from Miami.
Located on a beautiful stretch of beach in Nassau, this classic retreat is a true royal gem with a longstanding regal heritage. It's a place that we keep coming back to and has become a favorite for my clients.
At Sandals Royal Bahamian you'll find 5-star Global Gourmet dining with 13 options, including three all-new food trucks and an award-winning Red Lane Spa. It also features seven pools and complimentary water sports like sailing, kayaking, and scuba diving.
Best of all, Sandals Royal Bahamian has its own private offshore island, which is reached by boat over crystal clear waters. Sandals Private Island provides access to two secluded beaches, a lagoon-style pool, and a full-service restaurant. Who's ready to make a day of it here? :)
What We Love About Sandals Royal Bahamian All-Inclusive
In February 2022, Sandals Royal Bahamian reopened after completing a multi-million dollar renovation and is now the best and only Sandals resort in the Bahamas. This update included all new swim-up suites, renovated rooms, 10 new dining options, three new food trucks, and an all-new Coconut Grove section.
The restaurants are world-class, and there is something for everyone. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and dinner at the Italian restaurant, which is not one to miss.
All butler-serviced categories include a private luxury round-trip airport transfer in a Rolls-Royce or Mercedes-Benz.
The all-new Coconut Grove is a beachside retreat with a palm tree-lined area to lounge, dine, and relax.
The staff are genuinely friendly and will go out of their way to put a smile on your face.

The ocean can be pretty cool during the winter months of January - March.
The beach is not large, but it is beautiful and swimmable with calm water.
The private island has an abundance of areas to relax and is not overcrowded. The beach is beautiful, with hammocks in the water to unwind and maybe even have a turtle visit you.
Nightly entertainment is not lacking here, and the Balmoral bar or Cricketers Pub is one of our favorite places for a nightcap.
Diving is excellent, and for an extra expense, you can opt for an exclusive shark diving experience, which is a must-do!
The view from the gym on the top floor is amazing!
Two food trucks are located here, and it’s the place to be social in the evening.
Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Royal Bahamian:
When at or near capacity, the resort can be busy, and finding loungers with shade can be difficult.
Not all restaurants are open every day, so make sure to book dinner reservations upon arrival.

Sandals Royal Curacao is one of the newest additions to the Sandals family of resorts and is located in the Dutch Caribbean's Lesser Antilles, about 40 miles north of the Venezuela coast. After opening in June 2022, it debuted as one of the true jewels in the Caribbean, featuring the newest Sandals 2.0 design concepts throughout the resort.
If you're looking for a modern resort with world-class amenities, this is your destination. One of the things we love the most here is that even the luxury-level accommodation has been updated, so there is no need to spend the extra money to get a more modernized room, as those savings can be used to extend your stay!
After visiting this resort for a leadership meeting with the Sandals Executive team and other travel professionals, it's become a personal favorite of ours, and while it may not be a true beach resort, it is very unique, and you can understand why it's part of the Sandals Portfolio.

Guests have complimentary access to Dutch bikes to explore the 44-acre resort.
If you want to spend time underwater, Sandals Royal Curacao is the best Sandals resort for scuba diving. This is a true destination for scuba divers with walls, shipwrecks, and healthy coral reefs.
Key Considerations for Sandals Royal Curacao
Curacao is a safe island to visit, and we recommend getting off the resort to explore all that this country has to offer.
Exclusive to Sandals Royal Curacao for 7-night stays. If you book a butler suite, you can enjoy a $250 Dine Out Credit at select restaurants in Curaçao.
Guests staying in the Awa Seaside Bungalows and Kurason Island Poolside Bungalows can reserve a MINI Cooper for a 4-hour, one-time, complimentary driving session.
Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Royal Curacao:
While Sandals Royal Curacao has a beach, this is not a true beach resort as the hotel's proximity faces mainly towards a channel leading out into the ocean. If expansive ocean views are a must, we recommend Sandals Grande St. Lucia or Sandals Grande Antigua.
Transfer times from the airport to the resort are about 40 min.
Dive boat schedules can fill up quickly. We recommend signing up for your dives after checking in.
Flying to Curacao is relatively easy, with direct flights from New York, Charlotte & Miami.

What We Love About Sandals Royal Caribbean All-Inclusive
The staff here are truly exceptional. Without a doubt, the people who work here are happy, helpful, and genuine.
The chefs are accommodating to all food allergies, and if you have any special dietary restrictions, they’ll create a meal plan specific to your needs.

Kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing are available and included.
We love the Red Lane Spa at Sandals Royal Caribbean.
Proximity… This resort is only 15 minutes from the airport, so you’ll be enjoying your vacation in no time!
Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Royal Caribbean:
During the busy season, the best chair locations might be challenging to find at the beach and the pool.
The boat is on a schedule and will take you to and from the Private Island throughout the day.
15. Sandals Ochi
Location: Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Rivage Travel Ranking Score: 8.88 / 10

The Riviera Seaside accommodations have beautiful oceanfront views and are conveniently located near The Ochi Beach Club, which features a swim-up bar, romantic gazebos, and a charming à la carte restaurant right by the water.
As golf enthusiasts, we love having full access to the resort’s championship 18-hole golf course and the highly acclaimed Red Lane Spa.
What We Love About Sandals Ochi All-Inclusive
With this being such a large resort, you’ll always find chairs and umbrellas, so you can relax without worrying about playing the chair-saving game.
If you’re looking for adventure, the water sports team at Sandals Ochi is fantastic! From scuba diving and snorkeling to paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, and even Snuba (curious? Ask us!), there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Who can resist a lively piano bar while on vacation? Sandals Ochi's piano bar is a highlight, featuring fun sing-alongs with guests and staff members.
Don’t forget to pamper yourself at the Red Lane Spa—we highly recommend it! We're here to assist you if you'd like to schedule your treatments in advance.
Key Considerations for Sandals Ochi
There’s never a dull moment at Sandals Ochi! With exciting beach parties and a welcoming atmosphere, get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with joy and laughter!
Sandals Ochi is the largest Sandals Resort, with more than 500 rooms. It is situated on over 100 acres of lush hillside gardens overlooking the Caribbean Sea and has fantastic mountain and panoramic ocean views.
It's an exciting resort with much to offer, including the Caribbean’s only rock climbing wall, complimentary green fees, and transfers to the Upton Estate Golf & Country Club.
Evening fun includes the chic Ochi Beach Club for the ultimate beach party experience and the “Rabbit Hole,” the Caribbean’s first genuinely authentic speakeasy!
Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Ochi Beach Resort:
How long is the transfer time to Sandals Ochi? Approximately 90 minutes from the Montego Bay airport and 30 minutes from the Ian Fleming airport in Ocho Rios.
The resort is expansive and hilly, which means there are many stairs to navigate, and you'll be doing quite a bit of walking.
The resort has two sections separated by a road. The oceanside is where most activities occur; however, if you're near this area, the live entertainment can be pretty noisy. On the other hand, the Butler Village offers a more tranquil atmosphere.
A shuttle runs every 10 minutes, conveniently transporting you between both sides of the resort.
Cabanas are available throughout the property, but unlike some other Sandals resorts, there is an extra charge to use them.
16. Sandals Halcyon Beach - Best Sandals Resort for Privacy
Location: Castries, St. Lucia
Rivage Travel Ranking Score: 8.15 / 10
Cost Per Night/Per Person: From $226 | Distance from Airport (UVF): 35 Miles | Number of Restaurants: 6 | Number of Pools: 3 | Golf Included: Yes | Private Beach: Yes |
Sandals Halcyon is a laid-back tropical oasis on a pristine beach in St. Lucia. Of the three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia, Sandals Halcyon Beach offers a more personalized, quiet stay and one of our top reviewed resorts. There is no building higher than the tallest palm tree, and each cottage-styled room features a serene patio overlooking the beautiful grounds.
Because Sandals Halcyon is part of the Sandals exchange program, you can enjoy the complimentary shuttle service to Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Regency LaToc. This service expands dining options to 27 restaurants, 10 pools, and 21 bars.
What We Love About Sandals Halcyon All-Inclusive
Sandals Halcyon Beach is situated on an unspoiled beach set on a perfect stretch of paradise that is both quiet and peaceful.
The staff are extremely courteous and they'll most likely know your name by the end of your first day.
Noted for its culinary variety, and the chef will gladly put together a meal plan if you have any dietary needs. As with all Sandals resorts, breakfast is always a star, and at Sandals Halcyon Beach, it’s no exception.
Key Considerations for Sandals Halcyon Beach
There are two pools at Sandals Halcyon; both have swim-up bars. The larger pool has music and hosts many of their daily aquatic activities. The second pool is quiet.
The rooms are well-appointed, and many have been or are being updated. Our personal favorite is the new Koko Rondoval Butler Villa with Private Pool.
There are plenty of loungers available on the beach and at the pools.
Fire pits are placed throughout the resort. We love having a nightcap here and striking up conversations with new friends.
Stay at 1 play at 3 is a big plus. Sandals Halcyon is less expensive than Sandals Regency LaToc and Sandals Grande St. Lucia, so if you’re here, you can save some money while still enjoying all that Sandals offers.
Sandals Halcyon offers a free shuttle service between resorts.
While Sandals Halcyon is the smallest of the three resorts, our clients love its intimate, laid-back, and relaxed feel.
Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Halcyon:
Some of the resort buildings and rooms are being updated. If you’re looking for a specific room category, we’ll help you find it.
Sandals Halcyon Beach typically attracts an older crowd and is more of a resort focused on relaxation.
The resort is located off the main road, so if you are in the 700 – 800 block of rooms, you may hear some street noise.
First-floor rooms are close to walking paths, so there can be a lot of people walking by. If you want privacy, we recommend an upper level.
There are vendors soliciting items and tours on the beach. They are respectful, and a polite “no” is enough to send them on their way.

Travel Tips for Visiting Sandals Royal Plantation:
Green fees are included at Sandals Upton Estate Golf & Country Club.
This resort is not recommended for physically challenged guests as many steps are taking you down to the beach and up to the French Restaurant, Le Papillon - with no elevator access to either.
There is an elevator on the west side of the resort with access to accommodations only.
